We planted wheat

Image
Matt was reading in one of his garden books that one way to improve soil quality is to grow a cover crop and till it into the soil once it grows about a foot tall.  So Matt stopped at the IFA a week ago and bought 50 lbs of wheat.  We cultivated the ground in the front two flower beds and then planted a generous amount of wheat seed (about 3 of our 50 lbs).  If you need any spare wheat, you know where to come! Matt didn't want anyone to know he was plumbing with duct tape (pre-sowing wheat). This is for those who love to see pregnant pictures. I love this man.  :)

Turkey Soup

I made this soup yesterday and loved it.  It's as good as eating at Molly's.  I halved it because we had a small turkey carcass (5 lbs initially).  I wonder how close it is to your turkey and wild rice soup, Alicia. At any rate, here is my new favorite turkey soup recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/after-thanksgiving-turkey-soup/

Jono's Wedding

Image
Here are a few pictures from Matt's cousin's wedding recently.   Matt's dad with his siblings.  Uncle Todd and Aunt Heidi.  We went out to lunch afterwards together.  I wish we lived closer! This picture gives you an idea of how much I've grown lately.
