About a month ago Madeleine and I were laying down at night and I was waiting for her to fall asleep. We had been there for about twenty minutes and she did not seem any closer to dozing off. She sighed, then sat up and asked for the baby. Since sleeping wasn't happening anyways I let her feel my stomach and let her stay sitting up. She leaned forward and whispered "hi baby!" Then she turned back to me and very seriously said, "Mom, open up! Hold her now!" I'm glad she understands the idea of there being another person around and that she's excited for it. Since then we bought her a twin size bed. For the most part the transition has gone lovely. She had double ear infections again though in conjunction with her two-year old molars starting to come (only 1 of 4 is all the way up).
